Go Abroad

Try to go for a HOMESTAY in an English speaking country. (New Zealand, Australia, England, US, Canada etc.) Information available from M.I. Studies Abroad. Or try to spend a semester (or year) as exchange student in an English speaking country (ask Prof. Nakajima, tel: 27-8619). Check out the Fukui University Exchange Relationships. Use your vacations (spring or summer) to study English abroad. Try the Sidney International College (Australia) and Planet English (Hamilton, New Zealand). In recent years German universities created a range of undergrad and grad programs taught in English: Campus Germany (check English, Japanese, German informations). Practice your English! Dare international adventures with North Star in Norikura Heights. Buy English books and magazines, etc. at the bookstore Kinokuniya in the Seibu department store. Watch TV and movies in English. Try to speak to as many foreigners as possible in order to practice. Engage yourself in the foreign student tutor system (contact Prof. Nakajima, tel: 27-8619). Attend the Fukui International Association (FIA) events. At the FIA you also find books and magazines in English and you can watch English TV for free. Watch out for pizza parties, cultural events, Gospel choirs and English cafes in Fukui.
